Simple Speech

In a wide world where all seems possible
I think of one or two things at a time
And leave everyone to his kin and kind
The beat of his heart and his peace of mind

No one it seems intends to do what's bad
Until overcome by the greater force
The cause and effect of joy and sorrow
Lie there at the limit of what we know

If what is happening right here is real
Congealing pieces of segmented truths
For the conscience of the eyes to absolve
Then what sullen moods can talking involve

Too close to the bone of the unseen atoms
I dare not criticise all his wrong moves
But I ask not to be envied in turn
For I too wield things beyond his concern

There are veils in the brain that colours pass
On their merry way to the registry
Why they're there we have not even a clue
But only so many hues will get through

Hints abound how to make here the perfect gem
Apart from the time needed to learn a trade
One must suppress the ego's will to preach
To see that Art is made from simple speech
