In the Quiet Lull

In the quiet lull between the days
I make a wish between dreams
For wanton dealings that made me tired
To evaporate into memories
Like all that water spilt
To pour its weight somewhere else
Before returning to my skies
With the dawning sun clouded pink

Inside the wit dull between the ears
I make a wish between thoughts
For all the words that made me cringe
To flow out the pores and sweat
I could wipe them from the skin
On a pale white cotton cloth
And transfer the stains
of guilt and responsibility

In the heart's mull between the beats
I make a wish between feelings
For the enigma that made me numb
To turn into a song
Sometimes swinging like a sailor
Sometimes mellow like a minstrel
To give you and me a clue
About love and opening doors
