Fever

Have you ever wondered why temperature varies
Depending on the mood you get into
And the bacterial invasions the body carries
And the state's unending fight to feel normal?

None calls you hothead when the head is hot
Because you are laid out helpless
And your whole being feels like a reef knot
While the whole world seems remorseless

As keen wardens keep shouting their commands
Ignoring your inborn liberty of choice
Through the blurry imagery you hear demands
Of the cruel heart in the strident voice
