Eloquence

I have been for some time pursuing a study of traditional buildings. I have been grabbing time from here and there to ponder on the qualities that make these buildings vastly different from modern constructions. What was initially a light hearted interest has become a matter of urgent intellectual need.

Years have passed calling myself a professional architect. I have realised that this must now be qualified. I am an architect only in the sense that I have an official degree from a reputable university which gave me the necessary training for designing and excuting buildings in the modern style. A style which may have its place in satisfying a demand for a certain kind of assemblage but my education did not give me the intricate sets of knowledge needed to execute buildings that are imbued with a certain eloquence.

The above is a church spire which is part of a little borgo in Tuscany called Modanella.
