Brick by Brick

For nearly two years, I saw this guy every day. He laid bricks. At first he wasn't so used to laying old handmade bricks. When he became more familiar with them, the looser, lighter mortar and the fun of placing bricks of varying heights in a line, he did some great work, brick by brick, especially in this cellar, of a Villa near Siena, which needed extensive restoration.
